Women start-ups and women investors have been looking for each other for quite some time. Historically, women start-ups are vastly under-funded and under-represented. But the stars are beginning to align, and WINe is part of that constellation. Consider this from entrepreneur.com: In 2018, about 26 percent of the 300,000 self-described angel investors in the U.S. - about 78,000 - were women. A dozen years earlier, only about 5 percent of the 225,000 angel investors - about 11,000 - were women.

The genesis of WINe is deeply connected to this growing ecosystem of women who are in a position to invest and create businesses. Providing investment education and connecting entrepreneurs with the investors - and nurturing that community - is the primary aim of WINe.

Along the way, you’ll quickly find valuable and meaningful opportunities and real examples of women using their resources – finances, experience, and collaboration skills – to open doors for others and themselves.

OUR VISION

The determination and leadership of a growing community of women entrepreneurs is opening opportunities to fund and help propel the early stage growth of women-led companies. The increase in numbers of women investors has coincided with the growth of women-led companies; we seek to continue that trend in mid-Missouri and beyond.
